When an electric stove doesn’t start, be sure the appliance power cord is plugged in and that all circuit breakers are switched on. You should check the pilot light for gas models. If the oven is plugged in and the pilot light is lit, it means some other part of the appliance will have to be replaced. The cause of the problem might be the infinite switch, surface element, oven burner igniter or broil and bake element.
A burner or stove or oven with no heat does not do much. An oven will not heat if there’s a broken oven sensor or bake element. Your burner does not ignite if an element is broken or if the burner switch or terminal block do not work. We can troubleshoot and fix these issues in no more than 1-2 hours after an appointment begins.
You can assume the control board on a stove or oven is broken if the program or timer settings don’t work. If that is the case, we are able to fix control panels for GE, LG, Sears, Kenmore, KitchenAid and several other brands and models of ranges, stoves and ovens. We offer a warranty on all of the control boards and replacement parts we install for this type of stove repair service.
You should have a hot oven. But not too hot! If the heat is out of control, it could be due to a broken sensor or thermostat. Our technicians can diagnose the reason for the problem and repair it. Be careful if troubleshooting this issue for fear of burns from the high and unpredictable heat source.
A reoccurring stove issue is that an igniter glows but does not light. The reason this occurs is sometimes from a broken safety valve, electronic control, surface igniter or temperature sensor. We are able to determine whether we can fix these appliance parts or if we will need to replace the parts.
Modern self-cleaning ovens sometimes experience door issues often. The door won’t open after the oven cleans itself. We monitor the door latch, seal and thermostat to figure out why the door doesn’t open and then we complete the repair so we can correct the problem.
